In the spring of 1871, the Japanese ambassador, under the protection of two samurai, traveled by train across the American continent to Washington, D.C., to deliver a priceless military sword from the Emperor of Japan to the President of the United States. The train was ambushed by the outlaw Link and his accomplice Gosh, who stole the sword. Gosh schemed to kill Link in order to keep the treasure for himself. After the bandits left, the Japanese ambassador saved the severely injured Link and ordered the samurai Hekuto and Link to retrieve the sword within seven days. During the seven days of fighting together, Link and Hekuto were astonished to discover the shared values of the samurai spirit of the East and the cowboy culture of the American West...
