In the late Qing Dynasty, Eunuch General Li Lianying commissioned the Yihequan’s three factions—Shen Da, Maoshan, and Sorcerers—to eliminate the traitor, the deputy leader Lei Gong (played by Lau Kar-leung). Fang Shaoqing (played by Hui Yinghong) from the Shen Da faction and his master (played by Lau Ka-fai), Lei Yong (played by Lau Gar-wing) from the Maoshan faction, and Tie Hou (played by Siu Ha) and Tie Tan Zhu (played by Zhu Tiehe) from the Sorcerers faction head south to Guangzhou in search of Lei Gong's whereabouts. Years ago, Lei Gong was in charge of the Yunnan branch but, unwilling to see his disciples perish resisting foreign firepower with the so-called "Shen Da" skills, defied the imperial edict and disbanded the Yihequan's Yunnan branch, taking on the moniker of Yu Bo and retreating to the countryside. The factions pursuing him were all eager for merits, leading to constant internal rivalries. Lei Yong even disguised a rogue (played by Fu Sheng) as Lei Gong to lure out the real man. Fang Shaoqing and Tie Hou later switched sides after being moved by Lei Gong's sense of justice, but the leaders of the three factions still wanted Lei Gong dead.
