This romantic comedy film, directed by Qin Jian and with music by Wang Fuling, tells the story of Li Mingzhu (Jing Li) and Zhu Guodong (Jin Feng) who go from being classmates to lovers. After completing their studies and preparing to inform their parents, they plan to marry, unaware that their fathers are bitter rivals. The couple then informs their mothers about the marriage proposal, but when they start writing the invitation, both fathers find out and oppose the wedding. Later, Zhu's friend comes up with a clever plan, teaching Zhu and Li to pretend to be dead. When Zhu's father sees his beloved son 'die' due to lack of freedom in marriage, he agrees to let them be married in death, prompting Zhu and Li to 'come back to life.' Although Zhu's father knows he has been tricked, he still agrees to the marriage; however, Li's father (Liang Xingbo) sees through the ruse and becomes even more stubborn, resolutely opposing the union, resulting in a physical confrontation with Zhu's father…
