He aids Kangxi with strategies and eliminates the powerful foe Ao Bai, rising to a top official position; the former street rogue finally makes a name for himself. However, Xiaobao's journey is not without challenges, as he was rescued by the leader of the Heaven and Earth Society, Chen Jinnan, and took him as his master. One of Xiaobao's main tasks in the palace is to help the Heaven and Earth Society obtain the 42 chapters of the scriptures from the Dowager Empress. The significance of the 42 chapters draws attention from various factions, including the Heaven and Earth Society, the Dragon Cult, and even Kangxi himself, putting Xiaobao in a clever position to navigate through the various power struggles and ultimately escape using his wit.
