This film is adapted from Robinne Lee's novel of the same name. Directed by Michael Showalter, known for "The Big Sick" and "The Eyes of Tammy Faye." 40-year-old divorced mother Sophie (played by Anne Hathaway) finds herself abandoned by her husband, who left her and their daughter for a younger woman, also canceling their planned trip to the Coachella music festival. Sophie gathers her spirits and sets off with her daughter to Coachella, where they meet her daughter's favorite band, August Moon, currently the hottest band in the world. The lead singer, Hayes Campbell (played by Nicholas Galitzine), is smart, successful, confident, and stylish, exuding an immediate appeal to girls. At just 24, the two unexpectedly find themselves getting close. They start off with a series of secret dates, which quickly evolve into a genuine and passionate relationship. It’s a journey across continents, with Sophie and Hayes navigating each other's worlds: from stadium tours to international art fairs, to secluded spots in Paris and Miami. For Sophie, this is a self-recovery journey and a rediscovery of happiness and love. However, when Sophie and Hayes' relationship becomes public, and she and her daughter find themselves targets of enthusiastic fans and the media, Sophie must confront the issue: how will her romantic relationship affect the lives of those she cares about most?
