In 1986, Lebanon was experiencing a civil war, resulting in the kidnapping of a South Korean diplomat who subsequently went missing. The South Korean investigation yielded no results, and ultimately, the diplomat was declared dead. Two years later, rookie diplomat Min-jun (played by Ha Jung-woo) receives a mysterious phone call, and through a unique Morse code distress signal, discovers that the caller is the long-missing diplomat. The kidnappers demand a hefty ransom, requiring South Korea to deliver cash for a face-to-face transaction. Despite numerous obstacles, Min-jun, a former soldier, is determined to travel abroad to rescue his colleague. Given the sensitivity of the situation, failure to rescue the diplomat could lead to adverse consequences and complicate matters, so Min-jun's operation can only be unofficial. Soon, leveraging his years of experience in the Middle East, Min-jun contacts a local intermediary, only to be targeted by Lebanese military police immediately upon landing at the airport, with local gangs also getting involved. The rescue mission thus becomes fraught with difficulties...
