Tashi (played by Zendaya) was once a tennis prodigy who later became a coach, possessing an undeniable power both on and off the court. Her husband Art (played by Mike Faist) was a champion but has since faced numerous defeats. Just as she plans to save him from his losing streak, an unexpected twist occurs; her husband faces the washed-up Patrick (played by Josh O'Connor), who was Tashi's ex-boyfriend and also a close friend from her husband's past. As their past and present collide, tensions rise, and Tashi must ask herself what price she is willing to pay to win.
