In the Heavenly Realm, there exists a precious book known as "The Book of Heaven," which has been locked in a stone shrine for three thousand years. Yuan Gong, the guardian of the book, is immensely curious about its content, and when no one is around, he secretly takes it out to read. It turns out that the book records one hundred and eight spells. Yuan Gong, with good intentions to benefit humanity, descends to Earth and carves the contents of the book onto stone walls. However, this action violates the heavenly laws, and he faces punishment from the Jade Emperor. Inadvertently, three foxes steal the elixir from a cauldron, transforming into spirits to deceive people for money. They impersonate celestial beings and collude with the authorities to oppress the common folk and bring disasters to the mortal world. Yuan Gong guides a gifted child named Dan Sheng, who jumps out of an egg, to study the spells in the book and confronts the fox spirits with cleverness and bravery, eliminating the threats to the people.
