Charlie (Chris O'Donnell) is an ordinary high school student who witnesses a prank but doesn't want to betray his friends, leading him to face a difficult choice: confess or be expelled from school. On the other hand, Frank (Al Pacino) is a retired army officer who, due to accidental blindness, has seen his life fall from the heights of glory to despair.
Since their lives intersected, the turning point of fate gradually becomes clear. Frank intends to end his meaningless life, and with Charlie's company, he indulges in one last adventure. He enjoys the most delicious cuisine, buys flashy cars, races through narrow streets, stays in luxurious suites, follows the scent of unfamiliar women, and dances an elegant and sensual tango... After the wild pleasures, he points a gun to his head. However, Charlie's desperate pleas change everything, and a glimmer of hope gradually rises in the old man's heart, leading to a father-son-like bond between them.
Frank delivers an impassioned speech in the school auditorium, saving Charlie's future and mocking the hypocrisy of the school. They are reborn through mutual encouragement.
