The disillusioned and fallen middle-aged man, Akihiro Fujishima (played by Hiroshi Abe), once had a happy family. As a police officer, he was forced into early retirement after violently assaulting his ex-wife Kiriko's (played by Asuka Kurosawa) lover. At the lowest point of his life, unable to see a bright future, he receives a call from Kiriko, revealing that his daughter Kanako (played by Nana Komatsu) has been missing for days.
