The impoverished Frank family has five sons, and their sixth child is about to be born. Meanwhile, another couple of middle-class lawyers are unable to have children, leading both families to engage in a transaction that skirts the edges of the law. The film creatively packages the old theme of human trafficking within the framework of a suspense genre, highlighting the commonality of human nature despite class differences. The lawyers' knowledge of the law only amplifies the irony and helplessness of their situation. The film employs a unique 1.50:1 aspect ratio to tighten the framing, focusing on the characters' expressions and psychological states, accentuating individual choices within the legal order. Nominated for Best Debut Film and Best Supporting Actress at the 2023 César Awards, winner of Best Debut Film at the 2023 Lumières Awards.
