In February 1945, in the Paris Metro, a worker named Gin Digo encounters a fortune-telling vagabond. The vagabond foretells that he will fall in love with a beautiful woman, and dramatic events will unfold just a few hours later. Soon, Gin meets a young woman named Manao, who is escaping an unhappy marriage. Manao's brother, Guy, also receives the ominous warning from the mysterious vagabond: he is being driven towards an unfortunate death. Guy ignores him. Guy tells Manao's husband, George, that Manao has fallen in love with Gin. Suspecting Gin of having a weapon, George reluctantly accepts the gun that Guy offers him...
