Cooper (played by Chris Marquette), a carefree young man working in the service department of a pharmaceutical company, is often late for work, careless in his duties, and plays pranks on his colleagues, much to the displeasure of his supervisor, Marian (played by Deborah Geffner). On the morning Cooper is fired, an unknown disaster suddenly strikes. When Cooper awakens from unconsciousness, he finds himself wrapped in white cocoons, surrounded by chaos. Even more unbelievable is the presence of large, aggressive beetles attacking him. After a fierce struggle, Cooper manages to escape and subsequently rescues Marian and her daughter Sarah (played by Brooke Nevin), but Marian is ultimately taken away by the insects. With effort from Sarah and Cooper, they save several trapped humans, and this group of survivors must find a way to fight against the giant insects for a chance at survival...
