Joachim is the third child in his family, often teased by his two older brothers, which leads to frequent emotional outbursts. Luckily, his father is the director of a psychiatric hospital and takes good care of him. This facility specializes in treating adolescent patients, aiming for rehabilitation rather than confinement, and was one of the most advanced institutions in Germany at the time. Growing up in this environment gives Joachim a unique childhood. His family treats patients as if they are family, allowing him to understand that the line between “normal” and “not normal” is very thin. The video reflects the protagonist's journey from childhood to adulthood, illustrating various life segments filled with both joy and sorrow, including his first love, his parents' divorce, and his experiences abroad, all portrayed through a lens of dark humor. The performances, particularly those of both professional and amateur actors, including individuals with mental disorders, are especially outstanding.
