This drama tells the story of Asano Kyoko, who lives in the downtown area of Tokyo during the 40th year of the Showa era, busy with family business yet longing for the upcoming Osaka World Expo. Her dreams are thwarted by setbacks in arranged matchmaking, and she decides to go to Osaka. At the Manda family, she encounters the troubles of her uncle's family and the conflicts with her cousin Chinatsu. Chinatsu is full of hope for the Osaka Expo but is constrained by family expectations. Kyoko supports Chinatsu in challenging herself to become a staff member at the Expo, which becomes a step towards the realization of her own dream.
