Written, directed, and starring Jim Cummings, this film is based on the director's own short film of the same name. Its profound portrayal of the struggles and despair of the American middle class won the narrative feature award at this year's South by Southwest Film Festival. Jim is a police officer. He is speaking at his mother's funeral. His pain comes not only from her passing but also from not having treated her well while she was alive. Overwhelmed with sorrow, he plays Bruce Springsteen's "Thunder Road" on his daughter's radio. Singing and dancing to his mother's favorite music still fails to comfort Jim's sadness.
