At the end of the Yuan dynasty and the beginning of the Ming dynasty, Xu Jin, the Chancellor of Jiangxi, learned that the emperor was coming to sweep the tomb of Chen Youliang. He sent his adoptive son, Prince Jing Zhu Jianxiong, to make arrangements, feeling perplexed. After Chen Youliang's adoptive daughter, Chen Mochou, and her former troops learned of the plan, they all advocated for killing Zhu Jianxiong. Although Mochou only wished to live a peaceful life as a common woman, it was hard for her to go against the will of the crowd. The Yuan Shun Emperor sent the drum king Liu Yunpeng to feign betrayal and sneak into the south, where he was received by Xu Jin and others. In front of the tomb, Zhu Jianxiong disguised as a merchant had a conversation with Mochou, who was disguised as a fisherwoman. As the Ming soldiers surrounded them, he let Mochou escape while he himself was captured. Zhu Jianxiong instructed Xu Jin to send word that he should be executed. Mochou asked her maid Xiuxiu to disguise as her and sneak into Xu's residence to rescue her benefactor. Xiuxiu, who was originally a female official from the Yuan dynasty, took the opportunity to meet with Liu Yunpeng. Liu Yunpeng then used his invitation to sing at Xu Jin's house to cause chaos in the garden, allowing Zhu Jianxiong to escape helplessly. On the merchant ship, Zhu Jianxiong met Mochou again, and both sensed each other's identities. Mochou felt Zhu's sincerity and trusted him to leave, but deputy general Lin Wu saw through everything. Zhu Jianxiong instructed that Mochou be released, while Liu Yunpeng ordered Xiuxiu to kill both Chen Mochou and Zhu Jianxiong. Just as Mochou fell into Liu Yunpeng's trap, Zhu Jianxiong rode to rescue her. However, Mochou's subordinate captured Zhu Jianxiong. At night, Xiuxiu rescued Zhu Jianxiong, who was worried about Mochou's safety and insisted on going down the mountain. In the wilderness, Xiuxiu revealed her identity to Mochou, and the two fought fiercely. Liu Yunpeng used a hidden weapon to stab Mochou, but Xiuxiu protected her with her own body. Liu Yunpeng felt deep remorse. Chen Mochou responded to Zhu Jianxiong's offer to surrender. Zhou Tianhua forced Zhu Jianxiong to comply with the emperor's will and kill the Chen faction. After Zhu Jianxiong killed Zhou Tianhua, he rushed to the tomb, where Mochou and others were surrounded by Ming troops. Without time to discern the situation, Zhu Jianxiong was killed by Mochou, and upon seeing black blood pour from Zhu Jianxiong's mouth, Chen Mochou suddenly understood.
