Living a lavish life in a California seaside home, 16-year-old beautiful girl Poppy Moore (Emma Roberts) enjoys comfort and privilege. After her mother passed away in her early years, her father Gary (Aidan Quinn) indulges her, leading to her rebellious and unruly nature. One day, Poppy's arrogance finally irritates her father, and she is sent to a boarding school in England. However, even in a foreign land, Poppy's defiant personality does not change, and her behavior naturally attracts the attention and resentment of the other girls at school, while the strict school rules suffocate her. Poppy constantly yearns to escape this dull place, but during this time, she gradually realizes the foolishness of her past actions, and friendship slowly comes her way... The film's lead actress, Emma Roberts, is the niece of the famous actress Julia Roberts.
