Malcolm (Shameik Moore) is a high school student determined to forge his own path. His over-the-top and eccentric personality often makes him an outcast, leading to bullying and isolation, resulting in a tough life. For Malcolm, just surviving his final year of high school is his greatest wish. He secretly loves a beautiful girl named Nakia (Zoe Kravitz), but feels unworthy of her and keeps his feelings hidden.
