In the rural Texas, old cowboy Moss (played by Josh Brolin) discovers several bodies, some packages of heroin, and 2 million dollars in cash while hunting antelope. Moss decides to keep the drugs and cash for himself, hoping to change his life. However, he soon finds himself pursued by the cold-blooded assassin Chigurh (played by Javier Bardem), putting him in a precarious situation as he tries to escape. At the same time, local sheriff Bell (played by Tommy Lee Jones) is investigating a series of murders and striving to protect Moss's safety. Yet, Bell feels powerless and despondent as he cannot track down the ruthless killer, putting Moss's life in grave danger. While reflecting on the glorious past of his forebears, Bell deeply feels the sorrow of being left to fend for oneself in reality.
