At some point in the future, mysterious aliens invade Earth on a large scale. There is no destruction, no war; they occupy human bodies in a special way, transforming this planet, long tormented by human civilization, into a seemingly peaceful and happy paradise. However, a small number of people still refuse to give up their autonomous personalities and rich emotions and memories, and they make their final stand against this fate. The beautiful girl Melanie Stryder (played by Saoirse Ronan) fights fiercely, yet cannot escape her eroding destiny. The newly awakened Wanderer occupies her body, but Melanie's consciousness does not disappear. The Wanderer searches Melanie's memories on the orders of the Seeker (played by Diane Kruger) and learns of her brother Jamie (played by Chandler Canterbury) and her beloved boy Jared Howe (played by Max Irons).
