Chev (Jason Statham) doesn't die after falling from a helicopter; when he wakes up, he finds himself in a shady clinic where some inept Hong Kong doctors are performing a heart transplant. During the procedure, small-time thug Johnny Vann intermittently disrupts. After the surgery, Chev has an artificial heart from Avicor and a battery strapped to his waist. The doctors tell Chev that to keep the heart alive, he must constantly charge his body. Chev believes Johnny Vann stole his heart and goes on a frantic chase. In a sex and social club, he happens to save a prostitute named Rhea (Bai Ling), and at a nightclub, he encounters his pole-dancing girlfriend Eve (Amy Smart). A gunfight at the nightclub attracts the police, but the tasers only charge Chev up. When he chases Johnny to a racetrack, he makes a fool of himself in front of everyone to get a charge. It isn't until Hong Kong triad boss Dong Jin appears that Chev finally learns the true reason his heart was stolen...
