On the journey to retrieve the scriptures, the monk Tang Seng (played by Jia Yongquan) and his three disciples encounter the Leopard Spirit (played by Wang Yuqing) who attempts to abduct a bride from a wealthy family. After a fierce battle, the outnumbered Leopard Spirit is killed, and the wealthy family is very pleased. The next day, the group passes by the Bull Demon King's palace and runs into a domestic dispute between the Bull Demon King and Princess Iron Fan, where Wukong (played by Dong Zhihua) inadvertently offends the princess. The master and disciples continue their journey west. One day, they arrive at the country of Che Chi, which is now controlled by demons. Tang Seng leads his disciples to stay there for several days, destroying the demon lair and restoring the peaceful life of the past. The Red Boy (played by Mu Lixin) learns from his mother, Princess Iron Fan, that Sun Wukong has offended her and decides to take revenge. Guanyin Bodhisattva learns that Tang Seng and his disciples are in trouble, and sends her disciples Mu Zha, Jin Zha, and Ne Zha to assist them, eventually subduing the Red Boy... The story is adapted from Wu Cheng'en's classic work "Journey to the West."
