The second installment of the rebooted St. Trinian's series, based on the classic Ealing comedy from the 1950s, sees transfer student Annabelle Fritton from the previous film promoted to head girl. The first St. Trinian's, adapted from the 1950s original, was a huge success in 2007. The sequel, St. Trinian's 2, has now hit screens in the UK, telling what bizarre story this time? In the film, the female students discover that the headmistress is actually a descendant of a famous pirate, leading them on a journey to uncover buried pirate treasure. The film’s lead, Chelsea, is portrayed by 80s British beauty Tamzin Egerton, who has a model figure. Tamzin states that compared to the first St. Trinian's, this sequel places more emphasis on the schoolgirls’ stories. St. Trinian's 2 was released in the UK on the 18th. This installment mainly tells the story of the female students discovering that the headmistress is a famous pirate's descendant, prompting their quest for buried gold. The St. Trinian's series features numerous new British stars, including former Bond girl and current stars of Clash of the Titans and Prince of Persia, Gemma Arterton, as well as Juno Temple from Atonement, among others. Returning cast members Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, and Russell Brand will continue their roles, and David Tennant from Doctor Who has also joined the cast.
