Aniarala is one of many spaceships used to transport Earth's population to their new home on Mars. But just as Aniarala leaves the devastated Earth, she collides with an asteroid and is shot down. The passengers of Aniarala slowly realize that they can never go back; they will forever continue in a vast and cold universe. Swedish Nobel Prize winner Harry Martinson wrote "Aniarala" in 1956. This novel has been translated into multiple languages, including Danish, Finnish, English, Russian, Czech, Arabic, Japanese, and recently Chinese.
