The self-proclaimed university professor Jonathan Mahfort (played by David Bunce) leads a group of students on an expedition. Their small plane makes an emergency landing in a wooded area due to a meteor impact. Just as the students believe the expedition will be forced to end, the professor discovers a strange trail and orders the students to search the jungle. They ultimately find an abandoned farm, where they all set up camp for the night. After learning their intentions, the farm's owner (played by Ben Kahn) shows them the corpse of a giant spider-shaped creature and tells them that this monster has been in his family's barn since he was a child. The professor considers this to be absurd nonsense. However, the monster, which had been dormant since the meteor strike, emerges from its cave, posing a deadly threat to the people...
