Tandi Newton will star in the new film [God’s Country]. Directed by Julian A. Higgins, who co-wrote the screenplay with Shea Whigham ([Low Life]). The film is adapted from the short story "Winter Light" by James Lee Burke and tells the story of a university professor, played by Newton, who lives alone on the edge of a national forest during a cold winter in the mountainous West. One day, two hunters invade her land, leading to a dangerous confrontation. Filming is set to begin this week in Montana.
