The second-year rakugo performer, Shin-uo, on his twenty-third birthday, visited a soapland for the first time with the help of Shin-kome and his friends. Elizabeth, who accompanied Shin-uo, took an interest in the inexperienced young man, and the two began dating from that day onward. She is an intellectual who reads Penguin Books. A few days later, girls from a girls' high school rakugo club came to request coaching from Shin-uo. Among them, he developed feelings for Yumi. Pure-hearted Shin-uo confessed his feelings for Yumi to Elizabeth, but she dismissed it, saying, "Isn't it fine as long as nobody finds out?" Unsure of how to handle the situation, Shin-uo continued dating both Elizabeth and Yumi. Around that time, Shin-kome received news of his promotion to the title of "shin'uchi." While he rejoiced for his senior's advancement, Shin-uo felt left behind and visited Elizabeth's apartment. She was packing for a trip to Ogoto. Trying to suppress his loneliness, Shin-uo helped her. On the day of Shin-kome's shin'uchi promotion party, Shin-uo and his friends shared their dreams for the future.
