Near the northern Okuho mountains, a rescue team led by Captain Masato Noda (played by Kuranosuke Sasaki) is active, and former police officer Kumi Shiina (played by Masami Nagasawa) is one of the team members. On her first day with the team, she is already involved in a rescue operation, where she meets the optimistic and experienced climber and amateur rescuer Mibu Shimazaki (played by Shun Oguri). With the help of Shimazaki and her teammates, Kumi continuously grows and accumulates experience, also realizing the true meaning of life in moments between life and death...
