In today's Japan, there are approximately 12.3 million mountain climbing enthusiasts. With unwavering determination and fearless courage, humans conquer one mountain after another. However, each year around 2,000 people succumb to the forces of nature, losing their lives or becoming permanently disabled. Near the northern Okuho mountains, a rescue team led by Captain Masato Noda (played by Kuranosuke Sasaki) is active, and former police officer Kumi Shiina (played by Masami Nagasawa) is one of the team members.
