As spring transitions to summer and then to autumn, Yoshino Chiaki (Kyoko Koizumi) faces problems at work, with the TV drama she produced experiencing plummeting ratings. Her boss gives her an ultimatum, assigning her to produce a suspense drama, a genre she is not skilled in. Meanwhile, her neighbor Nagakura Heiwa (Kazuya Nakai) is also tasked by his junior superior with a daunting job—inviting the well-known writer Sakisaka Ryoko to serve as the heritage ambassador for Kamakura. Surprisingly, Ryoko agrees to Heiwa’s request, but only on the condition of engaging in a relationship. Heiwa is troubled by this dilemma, unsure of what choice to make. Other members of the Nagakura family—Noriko (Naoko Iijima), Shinpei (Kenji Sakaguchi), and Mariko (Yuki Uchida)—each face their own troubles or joys, whether regarding family, love, or work. There is no adult who is free from loneliness; the more one grows, the more wounds they accumulate. By the time a person reaches their forties or fifties, becoming what others call "old," they cling to certain principles that seem unnecessary to others, yet they also become "cool" individuals in the eyes of those they cherish. At 46, Chiaki and 51, Heiwa, their story continues.
