Shuuichirou Kuzuya (played by Ryo Odagiri) is a police officer working in the time management department. Due to the department's very easy workload, Kuzuya and his colleagues find themselves with nothing to do all day. One day, while everyone discusses their hobbies, Kuzuya realizes he doesn't have any and decides to develop one, focusing on time-limited cases. He resolves to investigate cold cases that have exceeded the statute of limitations to find the culprits. His colleague, Shizuku Mitsuki (played by Kumiko Aso), who secretly has a crush on Kuzuya, frequently visits the time management department to find excuses to interact with him. Kuzuya and Mitsuki uncover clues from a number of expired cases, engaging with the criminals and unfolding a unique detective story. Filled with various puns, the most laid-back detective tale begins.
