Keiichi Yoshinaga (played by Hiroshi Satoh) is an architectural designer. Years ago, he divorced his wife Junko (played by Naho Toda), and their son Shōtaka (played by Rairin Sugita) was raised by his mother. One day, Keiichi unexpectedly receives a call from Junko, who informs him that Shōtaka has been arrested by the police for killing a classmate. Shocked, Keiichi immediately contacts a lawyer and rushes to the police station, but no matter how much he tries, Shōtaka refuses to say a word to either his family or the police. What Keiichi could not have anticipated is that the father of the classmate Shōtaka killed is someone who had once been kind to Shōtaka. To protect his child's privacy, Keiichi seeks the help of Kyoko Kanzaki (played by Yūki Amami), a lawyer who is also a mother, hoping she can get Shōtaka to open up.
