Twelve-year-old Sam (Robbie Kay) is a terminal leukemia patient. After a third relapse, he stops attending school and no longer undergoes inpatient chemotherapy. Instead, a nurse brings him platelets at home every day to monitor his condition as he spends his final year of life. Sam has a friend, Felix (Alex Etel), who is also in the terminal stage and can only sit in a wheelchair. The boys' parents hire a home tutor to guide them and arrange daily learning activities. The tutor encourages them to keep journals and create wish lists. Whether it's becoming a scientist, watching their first adult horror movie, kissing a girl, or riding a spaceship, Sam and Felix bravely fulfill their wishes while exploring life's questions about life and death from their perspective. Their journey, though brief, is incredibly vibrant and colorful. "I don't want you to be sad for me, because—if you are sad every time you think of me, how can you remember me well?" This film is adapted from the children's novel of the same name by British author Sally Nicholls.
