The film opens with the quiet life of the blacksmith Nazaret, living in the small Turkish town of Mardin, with his kind wife and a pair of lovely twin daughters. However, with the outbreak of World War I, one night, Turkish police knock on his door and take him away from his home, marking the beginning of a journey filled with suffering. After escaping forced labor, hunger, and genocide, he ultimately gains his freedom and learns that his daughters are still alive; from that moment on, the sole purpose of his life is to find them. From Turkey to Lebanon, Cuba, and then to the United States, Nazaret travels across oceans, encountering good people who help him, as well as evildoers and dangers, ultimately rewarding his perseverance.
