"Sleeping Beauty" is called the "Encyclopedia of Classical Ballet," created in collaboration by Russian musical genius Tchaikovsky and the "Father of Classical Ballet," Petipa. The work is adapted from the Brothers Grimm version of the fairy tale "Sleeping Beauty" and tells a romantic love story where light triumphs over darkness, goodness over evil, and true love conquers death. The Bolshoi Ballet debuted "Sleeping Beauty" in 1899, marking 120 years of performance history. This high-definition footage presents the version choreographed by master Yuri Grigorovich in 2011, featuring majestic dance, opulent costumes, and lavish, brilliant sets, creating an unprecedented theatrical dance spectacle. Iconic dance segments such as "Rose Adagio," "Wedding Pas de Deux," "Bluebird Pas de Deux," and "Waltz of the Flowers" have become classics. Bolshoi's principal dancer Olga Smirnova and Semyon Chudin lead the cast as Princess Aurora and Prince Desire, while fellow principal dancer Yulia Stepanova passionately portrays the Lilac Fairy, along with several senior dancers taking on solo roles. Smirnova's portrayal of Princess Aurora is ethereal and has been described by The Daily Telegraph as "a truly extraordinary dancer."
