The film won the Silver Bear for Best Script at the 2011 Berlin Film Festival. 17-year-old Nick (Tristan Halilaj) lives in the northern region of Albania. Soon to graduate from high school, he plans to open a small internet café to make a living. His 15-year-old sister, Rudina, hopes to get into university and live her dream life. However, this ordinary family becomes overwhelmed as they become embroiled in a land ownership dispute, with their father hiding in the mountains after being charged with murder. According to ancient customs, if a family kills someone, the victim's family can kill a male relative of the murderer in return. Therefore, all the men in the family are forbidden to leave home. The entire burden of the family falls on Rudina's shoulders. She is forced to leave school and work to support the family.
