Sixteen-year-old Jamie (Lucas Pittaway) lives with his two younger brothers, Alex (Marcus Howard) and Nicholas (Matthew Howard), and their mother in a dependent and isolated life. The family resides in a community built by the government for the poor, surrounded by neighbors who are also homeless and part of the lower social strata. Jamie spends his days in repression and pain, while his brothers are mischievous and carefree. Their mother is morose and complains about their fate. Jamie yearns to leave his family and this place, when a man named John (Daniel Henshall), a tall and humorous figure, appears in Jamie's life and fulfills Jamie's fantasies about a father figure. As time goes by, Jamie's relationship with John grows increasingly intimate, and he even moves in with him, but gradually, John reveals a darker side.
