The story takes place in Germany in 1936, the year the 11th Olympic Games were held in Berlin. George (played by Jean-Paul Belmondo) is a boxing coach from France. Despite his deep disdain for the brutal fascist regime, he has to compromise due to the circumstances. George had once served as a pilot during World War I, where he met a German pilot named Gunter (played by Frank Hoffmann) amidst fierce battles, and a genuine friendship formed between them. At the Olympics, George and Gunter reunite, and their friendship has not been tarnished by the passage of time. By chance, George and Gunter encounter a Jewish boy, whose tragic situation deeply affects both men, and they decide to join forces, doing everything they can to help the boy and his family escape abroad.
