The film tells the story of a close-knit group of friends in a small town in Texas in the early 1980s. They include the young ice rink manager Richie Wheeler (played by Shiloh Fernandez), a sibling duo—Brent (played by Heath Freeman) and Michelle Burkham (played by Ashley Greene), and the somewhat cynical Kenny Crawford (played by Taylor Handley)... They all once cherished beautiful dreams and lived carefree lives, but as one by one they become embroiled in an unpredictable future, their carefree existence gradually fades away.
