In a circus based in London, there lives a hunchbacked young man (played by Daniel Radcliffe). His ugly appearance is only a source of amusement for others, while he has a deep passion for medicine, particularly anatomy. During a performance accident, the young man uses his knowledge to save a critically injured actress, Lorelei (played by Jessica Brown Findlay). His expertise catches the attention of the mad scientist Victor Frankenstein (played by James McAvoy), who goes to great lengths to rescue him and names him Igor.
