The Pharaoh discovered that the number of Hebrews in his kingdom was steadily increasing, which made him uneasy. He began to harbor baseless suspicions against the Hebrews and ordered that all Hebrews be enslaved, commanding that all newborn Hebrew boys be thrown into the river. One day, a Hebrew woman gave birth to a beautiful boy, and to save her child from the massacre, she placed him in a basket and set him adrift on the Nile. The queen found this beautiful boy by the river and took him to the palace to raise him, naming him Moses. Moses grew up alongside the prince Ramesses and the two became best friends. Moses strongly opposed the Pharaoh's tyranny over the Hebrews, and during one incident, he killed an Egyptian who was harming a Hebrew. To escape the Pharaoh's punishment, Moses fled to Midian. Soon after, the Pharaoh died, and Ramesses became the new Pharaoh. Moses initially believed that Ramesses would change the previous Pharaoh's tyrannical ways towards the Hebrews, but Ramesses only intensified the oppression. Under God's guidance, Moses learned about his origins and decided to lead the Hebrews out of their plight.
