This film presents the life of the genius Mozart from the perspective of court composer Salieri. Salieri (played by F. Murray Abraham) is a well-known figure in Vienna's music scene, and since encountering Mozart (played by Tom Hulce), his jealousy has burned intensely and relentlessly. Mozart consistently wins the admiration of all with his extraordinary musical works; his operas, including "The Marriage of Figaro," have become timeless classics. Salieri's feelings of envy and hatred towards Mozart have developed to a nearly distorted degree. He repeatedly sabotages Mozart's career—deliberately shortening the performance cycle of operas, maliciously editing Mozart's works, and inflicting cruel psychological torment on him during his grieving for his father's passing. The impoverished and weakened Mozart, in the final years of his life, composes his posthumous work, the "Requiem," leaving behind immortal pieces at the age of just 35. Meanwhile, Salieri already faces his fated conclusion.
