In June's Tokyo, the continuous plum rains cause agitation and stir desires. Rinco (played by Asuka Kurosawa), a housewife working at a psychological counseling office, lives a comfortable life with her husband (played by Yuji Kamoto). However, despite their love, the couple has no sexual relations due to the husband's obsessive-compulsive disorder. The gentle and virtuous Rinco can only seek fleeting satisfaction through masturbation. One day, a man named Dorou (played by Shinya Tsukamoto) calls for help, troubled by suicidal thoughts. With Rinco’s guidance, he gradually escapes the mire of suicide but instead becomes obsessed with Rinco's gentleness. He blackmails her with photographs of her masturbation, forcing this traditionally conservative woman to do increasingly humiliating acts... This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by director Shinya Tsukamoto and won the Special Jury Prize at the 2002 Venice Film Festival, as well as Best Actress (Asuka Kurosawa) and the Jury Prize at the 2003 Portugal International Film Festival.
