In the 1940s and 1950s, the U.S. government released a series of propaganda films aimed at convincing the American public that atomic bombs posed no threat to their lives. This film is a compilation of those propaganda pieces. The entire "Atomic Cafe" can be seen as a collection of the lies the U.S. government told its people about atomic bombs. In hindsight, the government's ignorance and its manipulation of the populace are both amusing and serve as a reminder to viewers not to trust official narratives too readily.
