The old police chief is about to retire. A new police officer reviews the chief's bookcase and discovers the Kurup case: Kurup is a seasoned operative of the Indian Air Force, who engaged in speculative activities and trading during his service. After retirement, he worked for a multinational company in Iran, assisting an Arab prince. To embezzle the Arab prince's $3 million fee, he returned to India to enlist friends in designing a fake suicide insurance claim. Several friends, tempted by the 800,000 rupee insurance payout, murdered another person to stage Kurup's suicide scene, and despite being pursued by the police, they managed to escape punishment.
