In a distant celestial realm, a group of playwrights tirelessly write the life stories of every human. The tea helper (played by Kenichi Matsuyama), who serves them tea and water, is familiar with every character in the writers' works and often critiques their creative methods and the various fates of humanity in his mind. After carelessly suggesting an idea to one of the writers, the tea helper feels guilty when the human girl he has long admired, Yui Shinjo (played by Ito Ohno), dies in a car accident. Plagued by remorse, he jumps down from the celestial realm, determined to save the girl at the last moment.
