In a lush little grove, six innocent boys and girls, each with their own worries, play happily together. Until one day, the angelically cute "Menma," Meiko Honma (played by Kanon Tani), unexpectedly dies, casting an indelible shadow on the hearts of her friends. Many years later, as they grow apart, Jinta Hanthrough (played by Kōki Murakami), who feels deep remorse for the events of that year, isolates himself at home. For some unknown reason, Jinta suddenly sees the grown-up version of Menma (played by Minami Hamabe), and tells Kitaro Hisakawa (played by Yuta Takahata), who is incredibly excited and quickly gathers their other friends, including Atsumu Matsuyuki (played by Jun Shison), Naruko Anjou (played by Airi Matsui), and Chiriko Tsurumi (played by Marie Iitoyo), to find out Menma’s unfulfilled wish. Yet, with scars etched deeply in their hearts, can the friends walk the road together once more? This film is adapted from the animated series of the same name.
