"Dragon and Phoenix Present Prosperity" focuses on two single-parent families, the Long family and the Feng family. Although Uncle Long and Aunt Feng are fellow chefs and siblings in the culinary arts, they have become estranged due to constant disagreements over feelings and the secret recipe for Doubanjiang. Uncle Long is very strict with his upbringing and does not wish for his two sons to join the culinary industry. However, his eldest son, Long Yi, who goes to study in the United States, ironically chooses cooking as his lifelong career. The younger son, Long Er, appears to be an academically excellent and obedient child, yet secretly he is a rebellious teenager who enjoys challenging authority and creating topics of discussion. The Feng family, in contrast to the Long family, adopts a laissez-faire democratic approach to education for their two daughters. However, under this educational system, the elder daughter, Dong Dong, ends up taking on the role of the household manager, while the younger daughter, Xi Xi, becomes a selfish and inconsiderate child. The themes of love in the world—familial affection, friendship, sibling bonds, and romantic love—extend from the "Long family" and "Feng family" to the broader social community. Relationships between people must evolve from strangers to acquaintances, to understanding, love, and togetherness. People can make the world a better place through mutual respect and cooperation. The emotional and life struggles of the two uniquely characterized households of Sichuan cuisine chefs (Uncle Long and Aunt Feng) ultimately lead to a joint effort to promote the true essence of Sichuan cuisine, conveying a message of health, fashion, and fun in life. Viewers of this drama will feel as if they have personally tasted a rich Sichuan dish. It does not mock life in a boring manner but instead uses characters' actions and destinies to showcase the changes in modern society, revealing the good and evil in human nature while advocating for social harmony and unity!
