This series is based on true events, inspired by the murder of director Roman Polanski's wife. In August 1969 Los Angeles, under Manson's leadership, his followers committed a series of murders, killing 7 people within two days, and leaving messages of terror at the crime scenes... In the late 1960s, the United States underwent significant changes. The Vietnam War ended, economic crises arose, and the human rights movement gained momentum... In this society of crumbling values, many people sought a way out. Some joined the hippie culture that advocated "make love, not war," calling themselves "children of the flowers," numbing themselves with drugs and rampant sex; others believed Charles Manson was the embodiment of Christ, worshipping him as their spiritual leader, living as part of his family, and carrying out his plans for murder to create his ideal nation. This film tells the story of the notorious killer Charles Manson and his family members from their perspective, depicting their lifestyle and the process of committing horrific atrocities.
