On one side is a bottomless abyss, and on the other side is a sheer cliff. When she regains consciousness, she realizes she is in a dangerous situation, with life and death just an instant apart. Should she wait for death, or fight for survival? She uses her broken body to explore the possibility of staying alive, but in such dire circumstances, unexpected weather strikes – a heavy rain is about to come... This film is directed by Tim Egan from Australia. It took only 8 hours from the initial concept to the shooting script. The short screenplay was inspired by two pivotal moments in the director's life – a serious car accident and a conversation with a frustrated friend. "I still remember the feeling of my fingers gripping the wet road surface." At that time, he was knocked down in a busy traffic hub, helplessly lying in the asphalt, at risk of being run over by another vehicle at any moment. Undoubtedly, the director's personal experience gave him a deeper understanding of the fear of death and the instinct to survive. The details in this film are remarkably portrayed; every action of the character is a matter of life and death, and while they share the suffocating tension together, the inner strength becomes vulnerable under harsh external conditions. With this dark and minimalist short film, Tim Egan won numerous awards, including the Official Selection Award at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival, the Best Short Film Award at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain, the Fantastic Fest, the Golden Eye Award at the PIFFF Film Festival in France, and the Best Short Film Award at the TIFF Festival in Russia.
